The mind can really conjure up the scariest things. That's why I hate horror movies, because every scene sticks in my head and replays by itself, involuntarily, every time I walk through total darkness in my home to get a glass of water. I don't even have to watch movies or actually SEE the scary thing to imagine how it looks like.
One example.
I was swimming at the deep end of the pool. Then I looked down at the bottom of the pool. And I imagined a horrible, absolutely terrifying colossal water monster looming there, swimming towards me. And I actually felt scared, heart pounding and all, and swam as fast as I could to the shallow end.
... I will die 10 years earlier for having active imagination I tell you. I'll get heart attack from the stuff my brain comes up with. XD
